The Green Movement
How Motion Control Dance made their voices heard through dance.
Earlier this year, Motion Control Dance took over Central Park with their unforgettable Green Movement dance showcase.
The showcase saw people of all ages coming together to take a stand against global warming, pollution, climate change and more through a range of different routines covering many of the negative changes our planet is going through.
To kick off the day, everyone in the park participated in a calming Tai Chi session to prepare the dancers for an afternoon full of dance, protest and change.
Following this, dancers, teachers and parents walked from Central Park, around Barry town, and back to the Square in a silent protest with powerful signs created by the dancers themselves.
The dancing began with the LEAP team performing their ‘They don’t really care about us’ routine. This saw the dancers portray an incredibly important message through dance and by using the signs they made as props within the routine. It was a compelling start to the showcase, making the audience see how passionate the MCD dancers are about saving our planet.

The routines mentioned above were only a handful of the remarkable performances we saw that day, and with each dance, another issue was highlighted. From the sea, to the tree’s, to the air, Motion Control Dance made every effort to ensure as many factors of climate change were covered as possible.
The message Motion Control Dance want you to take away from the Green Movement is that even the smallest changes in our day-to-day life can make a big difference. The world needs your help.
